ARTIST : Ragga Lox

Company : Rtist4Rtist

.
Reggae recording artist, Ragga Lox is a real expression of lyrical talent. His Smooth flow,
and confident delivery of songs over original roots rhythms, on his new album "Steppa Inna
Babylon", his third, makes him a true nowadays ambassador of reggae. His voice compliments
tracks in a style resembling none, however so professional, one wonders why is this artist
is not yet internationally known. On stage Ragga lox interacts with the audience, while using
his well organized lyrics, and melodic voice to win fans over. He has shared the stage with
many reggae greats, including Luciano, Mikey General, Buju Banton, Beenie Man,
Junior Gong, Gregory Isaacs and Bob Andy to name a few.

Rohan "Ragga Lox" Robinson was born August 13, Manchester,
Jamaica. He grew up in the community of Georges Valley, a small district on the outskirts
of Mandeville. Rohan recalls his first live performance as one he'll never forget, It was 1987
while attending Decarteret College High School. Ragga Lex, as he was then known, started
recording for Rhythm One Records. His debut release came in 1995, with three tracks on a
compilation Cd entitled Rhythm One Riddims. His single ,Ghetto Youths, was a favorite.
The album also featured Wayne"Sling Ting" Smith, Yankee B and Devon Clarke.
While at Rhythm One Studios, musician and engineer, Tarriii encouraged Ragga to become
a member of a band, in order to gain the experience of performing live and having voice
control. The opportunity presented itself almost instantly, as Ragga became a founding member
of the band UNI, and performed in and around the north eastern section of the United States.
It was the band that actually made Ragga decided it was music all the way.
After the closing of Rhythm One Records in 1996, Ragga continued performing with the
band for another year before leaving to pursue his solo career, recording his own productions:
Bright Lights Big City, and Chocolates and Roses. Chocolates and Roses was an instant success ,
and received a considerable amount of airplay in and around the New York Tri-State area, before
spreading out to other markets. Ragga Lex was now ready to finish his album,
but find this to be a very expensive task, so in 1998 he linked with Richie Roots of
Black Mind Records. His debut album "Mr. Lexinstein" was completed in 1999, and featured
Chocolates and Roses, Bright Lights Big City and more. The album was released
in 2000 with underground market the main target, however the album got to the shores of
Jamaica, and Balfour Henry of the Jamaica Sunday Gleaner wrote of how he was
"Delighted on hearing its lyrical tirade against all forms of injustices", but also highlighted
the fact that , "The album, has the hallmarks of a relatively poor , inexperienced producer,
trying to make the best of his ambition". Another beautiful article was published in the
Jamaica Observer, but featured the picture of popular dancehall deejay" Lexxus"
instead, who was at the time using the alias "Mr. Lexx" . So Ragga
decided to go back to the drawing board.

First Ragga changed the "Lex " to "Lox", which he thought was more practical as Rastafari
had now became his way of life, and he also made a promise to himself, that future productions
had to be industry standard. Ragga Lox instantly began marketing and promoting the new
name and the image, by being a radio personality, co-hosting Culture Jam Radio,
with Bobby Channel One, and then Reggae Jam Radio with Dave Judah 93.5 fm New York.
Black Mind Records re-release the album under a new name "LIFE", however, Ragga Lox
left the company October 2004 to complete what he started years earlier, his own record
company , Rtist4Rtist Ent.

Rtist4Rtist Ent. handles, productions, bookings, marketing, promotions etc, for Ragga lox and
to date, has release two albums."Music is My Life ", Ragga Lox Tenth Anniversary Collection,
released in 2005. This collection of songs recorded for various producers, over Ragga's first
ten years of recording featured guest appearances from friends like Ken Serious, Lee Kelly ,
Jango Thriller and Natty Remo .
The second album "Steppa Inna Babylon", was recently released in 2010, and has so far hit the number
two position on the NY Reggae Album Charts, while the single "on the corner", went all the way to the number
one slot on the singles chart.
The album mostly produced by Fabian "Goldy" Francis, for Undeniable Records in Jamaica ,
but also features productions from New Creation Records, Atlanta and Jungle Productions, Ethiopia,
The album features guest artist , Richie Spice, Lutan Fyah, Mikey General and Ethiopian singer
Jah Lude .
Rtist4Rtist Ent. has also promoted various shows, both in Jamaica and in the USA , and has
booked its artist Ragga Lox on numerous shows, including Irie Jamboree, NYC; Unity is
Strength, Jamaica; One Love Africa, Ethiopia; and shows in Kenya,
